Louis-Emmanuel Jadin was born in Versailles on September 21st, 1768. He learned to play the piano from his brother, Hyacinthe, and later worked at the Theatre de Monsieur, where he took the position of second keyboardist in 1789. His first opera was staged in Versailles in 1788. In 1792 he became a musician in the National Guard, worked as a professor of music in 1802, and in 1806 became director of the Theatre Moliere. He later became famous as a pianist and taught at the Paris Conservatoire. He was made Chevalier of the Legion d'honneur in 1824. Louis-Emmanuel Jadin died in Paris on April 11th, 1853.
