O Salutaris Hostia / Tantum Ergo Sacramentum.
Fletcher, Andrew.

Choral Works (inc. Oratorios).
For: SATB a cappella.

The texts for both pieces are taken from hymns by St. Thomas Aquinas and therefore perfectly suited to the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the Christian service. The rhythms are straightforward but the expanded harmonic language and the multiple non-diatonic key changes used in both pieces require a moderately experienced choir. 'Tantum Ergo' was commissioned for the 1999 May Festival at St. Stephen's (Bournemouth, England). 'O Salutaris' was written for Ian Harrison the organist and choir master of St. Stephen's on the occasion of his 50th birthday.
Piano reductions are included but are meant for rehearsal purposes only.

A cappella.
