Steinway artist Joel Hastings has championed Carter Pann's piano music, presenting an all-Pann concert, in which the composer has also performed. For Hastings and for himself, Pann has written this three-movement piano duo, a challenging and rhythmic romp. Movement titles impart a sense of each: I. Proposal in Positano; II.
