Eight Piano Pieces (Scherzino; Bagatelle; Barcarolle; Holstein Scherzo; Consternation; Hornpipe; Interlude; Monty's Waltz).
These eight short pieces, collected here under the title of 'Piano Album', were written over a period of time. Most were composed for piano-playing friends or members of the family. Their musical substance is determined partly by the recurring use of certain intervals, partly through particular rhythmic figures. Most of the pieces employ short motifs. ..In their given order these compositions form a cycle; however the performer is at liberty to play them individually or in any desired order.--Graham Waterhouse.
