Known in the 14th century primarily for his comic operas, Pergolesi composed this piece as his last work , which later J.S. Bach rearranged, melding his particular style with the baroque forms and gallant style of Pergolesi. The arranger, R.D. Tennent, has skillfully arranged this for the preset voicing.
