Siegfried's Tango.
Dressler, Friedmann.

Cello Ensemble.
For: 4Vc.

Even composing these pieces was great fun for the cellist Friedmann Dressler from Duisburg. He had been infected with the "Wagner bug" from an early age and since then has been admiring Richard Wagner, the composer. Wagner's lyrics, however, sometimes left Dressler with a funny feeling. This conflict is the basis of his humorous parodies on Wagner, meant to be played as polka, tango, waltz and scherzo. The individual pieces based on motifs of "Der Meistersinger", The Ring Cycle and "Tristan" are preceded by the corresponding motifs - to everyone's orientation and delight.
