Sonatas (6) for 2 Alto Recorders Vol. 1.
Blavet, Michel.
Edited by Schmidt-Laukamp.
Recorder Ensemble.
For: 2A-rec.

Michel Blavet (1700-1768) was a very famous and popular musician even in his lifetime. Although he was an autodidact on many instruments, his main instrument was the flute traversière which he played left- handed. His compository style is marked by Italian elements, and he was influenced by Telemann, too. On October 1st, 1728, Blavet's first sonatas for 2 flutes traversières were published which are presented here in a transposed version for 2 alto recorders based on the first print. These lively and appealing pieces range from an intermediate to an advanced level of difficulty.
