Danish composer Christopher Ernst Friedrich Weyse was born in Altona (the westernmost district of Hamburg, Germany) on March 5, 1774. -- "Looking at the songs on the page, one can see that they resemble the songs of the Second Berlin School (Reichardt) and the Viennese composers who slightly predated or were contemporaries of Schubert."--Journal of Singing (Jan/Feb 2009).
