Radetzky March, The. By: Strauss. Arr: Perconti. Saxophone Quartet. Instrumentation: SATB Saxes.

Written by Johann Strauss Sr. in 1848, this tune featuring elements of popular 19th century European dances (waltz, polka, and quadrille) was originally dedicated to the Austrian Army. Today it has become so popular that it is now considered the unofficial national anthem of Austria. Orchestrated for SATB saxophone quartet, players are encouraged to keep the festive nature of the march in mind. Using the suggested ornamentation will lend verve and flair to the music.
