The dazzled eye lost its speech (Apstulbusi .
Mazulis, Rytis.
Edited by Hillier, Paul.

For: SATB(w/divisi) a cappella.

A surreal text set to a spiral canon. The text is a Lithuanian translation by Sigitas Geda of a poem by the Polish poet Stanislav Grochowiak (1978).
Mazulis's strength is his reliance on minimalism, canon, and layering, to create an atmosphere of excitement, mystery and wonder. [It] is not as difficult as it looks on the page..[but] the divisi staff assignments are extraordinarily difficult to follow..If you are not dissuaded by these considerations, this composition is an extremely dynamic and creative piece of art worthy of frequent performance.--Reed Criddle, for Choral Journal (May 2010).
Composed 1992.
