Three Pavans - ScP. Contributors: Milan. Recorder Quintets (SAATB). Score and Parts. Publisher's category: Recorder Quintets.

During the 16th century in Spain, lute music enjoyed the same huge popularity as organ and harpsichord music did in England and Italy.

One of the leading virtuosos of this period was Luys Milan, composer, musician and poet, born around 1500 in Valencia. The Portugues king, Juan III ennobled him after he was forced to leave Spain. His most important book The Master, was published in 1536. This work contains fantasies, preludes, pavans as well as Christmas songs, romances and sonnets.
