Rockin' Like the Animals for Drumset Solo.
Because after many years of teaching percussion, I am aware of the serious lack of formally rounded off, easy, and yet effective drum set solo literature, based on my lessons I have developed the pieces in this edition for beginning percussionsts. The eight pieces are graded from easy to more difficult, though it was also important to me that the works progress in their level of difficulty smoothly from solo to solo. The pieces have been given trial performances by pupils at many music school and other events. When played at a faster tempo, they will prove a good choice for performance by more advanced pupils in recital or as an encore. The titles taken from the animal kingdom are meant to spark the imagination of children and young learners as they practice; the powerful rhythmic drive matches the feeling of rock 'n' roll.
