Georg Druschetzky was born in Jemniky near Pchery (Czech Republic), on April 7th, 1745. In addition to being a composer, he was also oboist (he studied with Carlo Besozzi in Dresden) and timpanist (in addition to 27 symphonies, music for band, chamber music, operas, and other orchestral music, there is a concerto for timpani!). Druschetzky died in Buda (Hungary) on June 21st, 1819.
